Instructions on How to Apply for the Benefits

In the US Social Security retirement benefits form an important part of the retirement income of the individual.

But relying solely on social security retirement benefits will not be sufficient to provide you with a comfortable lifestyle in retirement. Your retirement planning should include 401k plan which should provide you with the bulk of your retirement income.

If you have income from other savings, they will do very nicely and will give you the confidence and assurance you need when you retire.

You may find it useful to print out the application form first. Then follow the online instructions carefully to fill in the application form. If you miss any instruction, don't worry. Try to fill in as much of the hard copy as you can and where there are gaps, replay the video to help you fill in the gaps.

Once you're happy with your answers on your hard copy, use them to fill in the online application form. Then send off all the necessary documents to process the application.
